About Bitcoin Culture
A small publication about Bitcoin as culture — its people, its history, and the ideas that made a nine-page paper change money.
Most Bitcoin coverage is about the number going up or down. This isn't that. We're interested in the human layer: the founding myths, the strange first transactions, the cypherpunk arguments, the reason a leaderless money attracts the stories it does. Think of it as a culture desk for an idea that happens to also be an asset.
We aim for accuracy on the history and honesty on the opinions, and we try to write for a curious general reader, not just people who already own coins. Nothing here is financial advice, and we don't endorse buying anything.
An honest disclosure
Transparency matters, so here it is plainly: this publication is connected to the team behind the DOM project and its site bitmap.media, which lets people "own a day" as an on-chain district. Some articles mention it.
Because it would be easy to confuse, we've written a dedicated explainer on what a "bitmap" actually is — and what it isn't. The short version: bitmap.media's "Bitmap in a Canister" is built on the Internet Computer, and is an homage to — not the same as, and not affiliated with — the original Bitcoin Ordinals bitmap idea. Know which chain you're on before you buy anything, anywhere.
That's the whole deal: good writing about Bitcoin culture, an open acknowledgement of who's behind it, and a firm commitment not to blur two different things to make a sale.
